Why pools turn green
A pool goes green when chlorine drops too low to hold back algae. This usually happens because a fixed amount of chlorine is added every day regardless of the reading. Swimmer numbers, rain and sunlight all change how much chlorine the pool needs.
pH matters just as much. When pH rises, chlorine stops working well, so a pool can have enough chlorine on paper and still turn green.
We test chlorine and pH every day and dose to the reading. The log is available to the committee.
Pool safety
- Chemicals stored and handled safely, away from residents
- Pool closed during shock treatment until levels are safe
- Lifeguard deployment during pool hours on request [CONFIRM]
- Depth markings, safety signs and pool rules maintained
Fountains, water features and ponds
Decorative water bodies get the same attention: filtration, algae control, pump maintenance and cleaning. Koi and fish ponds are maintained with fish-safe treatment.
Pool repairs and annual maintenance
Tile repairs, pump and motor replacement, filter media replacement, underwater lighting and full drain-down cleaning are handled or coordinated by our team.
Cost
Pool maintenance is priced monthly based on pool size, number of pools, and whether chemicals are included.
Frequently asked questions
Skimming and vacuuming should be daily. Chemistry should be tested at least once a day, more often during heavy use.
Free chlorine is typically kept between 1 and 3 mg/L and pH between 7.2 and 7.8 for residential pools.
Not usually. The pool pump room is often next to rooms our technicians are already in every day. One team covering both is simpler and usually cheaper.
