Overhead Tank Cleaning Services in Bangalore

The overhead tank is the last stop before water reaches every tap in the building. Reshma Facilities Management cleans overhead tanks for apartments and buildings across Bangalore using a mechanised process, with before and after photographs for the association.

Signs your overhead tank needs cleaning

  • Brown or cloudy water at the tap
  • Sand or particles collecting in taps and filters
  • A musty or earthy smell in the water
  • Green algae visible through the lid
  • More than six months since the last clean

What we do

  1. Isolate the tank and drain the remaining water
  2. Remove settled sludge with a vacuum pump
  3. Scrub walls, floor and corners
  4. High-pressure wash
  5. Disinfect with an approved anti-bacterial agent and rinse
  6. Photograph the inside before and after
  7. Refill and check residual chlorine

Overhead tanks in older buildings

Tanks in buildings over 15 years old often have biofilm on the walls that chlorination cannot reach, cracked plaster, and lids that no longer seal. We note these in the report so the association can plan repairs.

If residents still get discoloured water after a clean, the problem is usually in the pipes, not the tank. We will tell you that rather than book a second clean.

Multi-block apartments

For large communities with separate overhead tanks on each block, we clean block by block on a published schedule so residents know when their supply will be affected.
